Up here we have finally convinced the trees in our yard to start losing their leaves. Our house was the last house on the street that still had completely green trees. On Friday I raked up all the leaves in the front yard so the kids could jump in it. Benjamin watched.
The pile.
I then had to get a picture of them all in the fall leaves. So cute!
On Saturday the fire station held an open house for fire prevention week. The kids got to sit in the fire engines.
Then they got to spray water out of a canister. They pretended to put out a fire.
About 30 minutes after we got to the station, there was a 911 call so 4 of the emergency vehicles had to leave, along with all their fire fighters. It was boring after that so we left.
On Saturday we discovered the reason we had no power in the garage was because the wires were cut just inside the new addition and just outside the garage. So on Monday we started the process of fixing that issue. I climbed under the new addition to drill a hole in the side of the house for a wire to come in. Those beams at the top of the picture are the floor joists for the first floor. Getting in and out of the hole was interesting.
On Tuesday we did round two of jumping in the leaves, except this time these were the leaves from half the front yard.
And no post would be complete without Benjamin. He is starting to move around. He can go in circles sitting on his bum, but today was his first time utilizing the backward stomach motion. He went from sitting where the toys are on the blanket to the dryer. I guess it is now time for those child gates to go up.
Disappointing Summer
