So with the start of July finally came the summer weather. Dallin spent a lot of time in the kiddy pool or in the house in front of the air conditioner.
On July 7th Dallin was playing in the kiddy pool with a few of the neighbor kids. I was feeling some cramps and thought nothing of it until i noticed their was a pattern to them. I timed them from about 4-6pm. They were about 5 minutes apart. I went home and tried to call Luke. Of course the one time I want Luke to answer his phone he didn't. I called the on call doctor, I told her my contractions were 5 minutes apart for 2 hours, but I didn't feel they were painful enough. She told me to walk around for an hour then come in. She said the worst case would be for them to send me home. Luke finally got home when I was on the phone with the doctor. We had dinner and sent Dallin over to our neighbor's the Coles.
My contractions started feeling a little worse when we were driving to the hospital. The bumps in the road did not feel good. We got to the hospital about 8:20pm. When they checked me the nurse said I was at 7cm. They said I could stay and checked me into my room. Once in my room the contractions really started. The nurse had the tub filling so I could use it to relax before the baby came. The nurse wanted to check me again before she let me get in the tub. I was at 9cm. So, no time for the tub. The doctor came in and everything was set up. The doctor broke my water and told me to push. I pushed about 3 times and Christine Violett was born at 9:53pm. She was 8lbs 6oz, 20 inches. Our perfect baby girl.
Dallin played at the neighbor's all the next day while Luke slept at the hospital with me. Luke then finished preparing the presentation for his class. Luke then went home changed clothes and went to class and gave the presentation. He liked having the excuse "my wife had a baby last night" to make up for his presentation not being perfect.
So here is the proud daddy.
Two cute kids! Christine had a mo-hawk for the first day or two.
Christine was born with a ton of hair we could put a bow in it right away.
My mom came up to help the week after Christine was born. The last weekend she was here we went to Multnomah Falls. It was huge and amazing. Here is Christine ready to go hike up to the falls.
The girls in front of the falls.
The boys.

The falls.
I think it would be fun to go tot he falls again sometime when I am not healing from a delivery and when it is not so crowded.
Also this month we started playing with the many hairstyles we can already give Christine. Here is her with a head full of curls.
