So now I am going to try to do weekly posts. Mostly so Luke can see what is going on. So here it goes.
This was Luke's last few days home so we tried to spend most of it together.
Tuesday I got my hair cut. Here is the before...
And here is the after....
Luke loves how he can be seen in the mirror in the background. I was sick of always having my hair in a ponytail and it getting in the way when I was holding Christine.
On Wednesday we spent the day getting everything packed and ready...Luke was supposed to be leaving the next day. Luke informed me he was going to leave on Friday instead.
Thursday we went to the Japanese Gardens in Portland. I had wanted to go for a while. I now want to have my yard like them. The gardens are so peaceful.
Here we are in the entrance to the tea garden.
Here is Luke with the waterfall. Next to us were a ton of photographers. I guess this is the place to go if you want to practice with your camera.
Dallin had a little scavenger hunt page to try out. He just drew on it and Luke and I tried to find the items. The key was to not lose the pencil before we left so it could be turned in for a prize.
Looking out this way you could see downtown Portland. I love how Washington Park is right in the middle of the city and yet it doesn't feel like it. Taking this picture took some creative skills with a day planner and stroller.
Here is the bridge in the middle of the park. Dallin was trying to climb over the top. Luckily he didn't fall over.
And of course we had to get a picture of Dallin with the lion. We can get a proper lion picture when we are down in San Diego but this will do for now.
So Friday Luke left a little after 6am. He made it to Salt Lake City by about 7pm. We talked about every hour of the trip. Luke was excited by the gas mileage he as getting with the Mazda. It ranged 33-36 mpg. So Luke is now safely in Utah and I am here in Forest Grove with the two little ones. The first adjustments of Luke being gone were hard but everyday it gets better.
